A few more pics of second day...

Alright, one of these days i will actually catch up on the pictures. They are kinda out of order, but you all get the point. Parker is doing great, he has a doctor appt. on monday to see how much he is growing and all. He was 6.12 when we brought him home, so hopefully he is back up to birth weight! He is a good baby, and sleeps pretty good at night. If he goes to bed at 11 he wakes up around 2-3 to eat, poop and go back to sleep. :) then he will wake up again around 6-7 to do the same thing, and then we get callie off to school and it is just me and him all day. and he has the same routine all day. He is getting better at staying awake for more then 45 mins at a time, so i can actually see his eyes then. I will get a picture soon of him up here with his eyes open and him fully awake. Callie is doing great. I mean she is a little jealous but way better then we all thought she would be. She tells people when they pick up the baby to " be careful with that gentle little thing" It is cute. The first time she said it was at my moms house when my mom was sponge bathing him.! It was really adorable! She comes home from school and first thing she wants to do it hold her little brother. Callie loves to help ( maybe a little to much) haha. Although i get a little worried when she tries to help i know it is a great thing for her to be able to bond with him and not be so jealous. Anyway i hear a little squeaky thing in the living room so i need to hop off of here. Hope you all are having a great weekend!

HURRICANE IKE~the aftermath

Hi everyone,
This is Christy's mom. She wanted me to let everyone know that they are doing fine. No electricity, no phone service, unable to talk to anyone. They did sustain some roof damage and leaks, but they are doing good. Still no baby! I will post if she has the baby before they get electricity.

Hurricane

Yes folks, there is a HURLLICANE ( as callie puts it) On its way. Seeing that my due date is today and i am 2.5 centimeters and 65% effaced, everyone is taking polls that this baby will be born during the hurricane. What do you all think? Let's just hope when Hurricane Ike hits, i will not go into labor, either that or i will be able to make it to the hospital in time to deliver.... i don't know about you, but sure as heck don't want to have this baby at home!!!!!! Anyway hope you are well, it is time for me to organize the food storage, scrub bathtubs, and prepare for a big storm. ( i don't think its going to be as damaging as everyone thinks) but there is nothing better then to be prepared for the worse, right? Oh yeah we are located right above that red mark that says 2am sat. So that means a catagory 3.!

Turtle Turtle

Dave came home yesterday witha surprise for who none other then callie.! She was so excited that her daddy came home with a turtle (he found it at work). We put the turtle in the backyard, and all we could here from then on was turtle, turtle, where are you? The turtle kept hiding from her and trying to find a way out, and callie kept finding it and bringing it back and trying to feed it with who knows what, and putting it in a bowl of water. So finally after playing with the turtle for awhile we told her that we needed to let him go so he could go back home to his family. She was sad for awhile, but then she got over it. Anyway just wanted you to see our little adventure from yesterday. Have a great day everyone!

Stress level...... is through the roof!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH...! I just played at school.....

When I'm building in the block room,
Please don't say I'm "Just Playing."
For, you see, I'm learning as I play;
About balance and shapes.
When I'm getting all dressed up,
Setting the table, caring for the babies,
Don't get the idea I'm "Just Playing."
For, you see, I'm learning as I play;
I may be a mother or a father someday.
When you see me up to my elbows in paint,
Or standing at an easel, or molding and shaping clay,
Please don't let me hear you say, "He is Just Playing."
For, you see, I'm learning as I play.
I'm expressing myself and being creative.
I may be an artist or an inventor someday.
When you see me sitting in a chair
"Reading" to an imaginary audience,
Please don't laugh and think I'm "Just Playing."
For, you see, I'm learning as I play.
I may be a teacher someday.
When you see me combing the bushes for bugs,
Or packing my pockets with choice things I find,
Don't pass it off as "Just Play."
For, you see, I'm learning as I play.
I may be a scientist someday.
When you see me engrossed in a puzzle,
Or some 'plaything' at my school,
Please don't feel the time is wasted in "Play."
For, you see, I'm learning as I play.
I'm learning to solve problems and concentrate.
I may be in business someday.
When you see me cooking or tasting foods,
Please don't think that because I enjoy it, it is "Just Play."
I'm learning to follow directions and see differences.
I may be a chef someday.
When you see me learning to skip, hop, run, and move my body,
Please don't say I'm "Just Playing."
For, you see, I'm learning as I play.
I'm learning how my body works.
I may be a doctor, nurse or athlete someday.
When you ask me what I've done at school today,
And I say, "I Just Played."
Please don't misunderstand me.
For, you see, I'm learning as I play.
I'm learning to enjoy and be successful in my work.
I'm preparing for tomorrow.
Today, I'm a child and my work is play.
